AWARDS
TRUTH IN TRANSLATION - Won a Fringe First in Edinburgh 2007, Thembi was nominated for best performance in a musical by Naledi Awards.
GOGO AND BIG SISTER - wrote & starred in a Radio Drama for BBC Radio 4. The Guardian Newspaper nominated it as pick of the day. It was chosen as Play of the Week by BBC World Service and broadcast globally to an estimated audience of 45 million.
In 2004 STOKVEL was nominated for Switzerlands Rose DOr and was the runner up at the American Emmys for Best International Comedy Award
THE WOODEN CAMERA won a Crystal Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2004
CELEBRATION OF THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY FOR SOUTH AFRICA S INDEPENDENCE The Guardian newspaper nominated it as Pick of the day in the radio section of Arts and Entertainment. The BBC World Service chose it as Play of the Week and was broadcast globally.
WOMAN IN WAITING - was awarded with Best Actress Award at The Carthage Festival in Tunisia 1999, and nominated for a FNB Vita Award for best script. The play won a Fringe First in Edinburgh Festival in 2000. She was nominated for best actress in The Manchester Evening Standard Award in the UK, whilst the BBC Radio 4 version of the play won the Gold award for the best Radio Drama produced in Britain at the Sony Academy awards in 2002.
MAPANTSULA - was awarded an FNB Vita Nomination for Best Actress. With the film winning the best new film at the Cannes International Film Festival 1988
