VOICE BIO

Dylan Janse van Rensburg is a talented and passionate performer, originally from Cape Town,
South Africa. A graduate of the prestigious Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA),
Dylan’s journey in the world of music began at a remarkably young age. Raised in Cape Town, he
was exposed to a rich cultural environment that inspired his early interest in the performing arts.
His love for singing was ignited when he began vocal training at the age of 9. It was at this pivotal
moment that Dylan discovered the transformative power of his voice and developed an
unwavering passion for music. Over the years, his vocal abilities flourished, and he became an
integral member of several choirs, most notably the Tygerberg Children’s Choir, which he was part
of for more than six years. His time with the choir not only honed his vocal skills but also exposed
him to a diverse range of musical styles and performance experiences, further fueling his desire to
pursue a career in the performing arts.
Dylan’s formal training at LAMTA was under the guidance of some of the most respected
professionals in the industry, including Claire Berlein, Shirley Johnston, Jacqui Singer, Christopher
Weare, and Sylvaine Strike. Under their mentorship, he was rigorously trained in vocal technique,
performance, and the art of accents, which helped him develop a versatile and dynamic voice.
Through their expertise, Dylan learned to push the boundaries of what his voice could achieve,
gaining the ability to express a wide array of emotions and character nuances with ease.
As an artist, Dylan is particularly drawn to the process of character creation. He finds joy in taking
on roles that challenge his imagination and stretch his creative limits. Whether it's embodying a
larger-than-life character or delving into the complexities of a more subtle, nuanced role, Dylan
approaches each performance with a sense of discovery and excitement. He loves to explore the
endless possibilities that his voice and body can offer, pushing himself to embody characters in
ways that go far beyond the surface.
For Dylan, acting and singing are not just technical skills—they are an avenue for personal
expression and exploration. His passion for storytelling, combined with his deep appreciation for
the craft of musical theatre, fuels his ambition to continue developing his skills and to inspire
audiences with his performances.
