BIO
John Conrad is a voice actor with a knack for bringing characters to life through his voice. His journey into the performing arts began at just six years old, landing the lead in 'Verlore Skilpad,' which kick-started his bilingual acting career. He is fluent in both English and Afrikaans. He honed his skills at the renowned LAMTA (Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy) from 2021 to 2023, working under the direction of Jacqui Singer, Shirley Johnston, Claire Berlein, Christopher Weare and Sylvaine Strike. His roles have ranged from the comedic to the dramatic, highlighting his versatility in performances such as Yakov in 'The Seagull/Stupid Fucking Bird' and Moritz Stiefel in 'Spring Awakening.'
Beyond traditional acting, he expanded his repertoire to include voice over work, excelling in animated characters, commercial voice-overs, and narration. His diverse background also includes musical theatre and a deep passion for storytelling in every form, from puppetry to poetry. Collaborators value his dedication, ability to convey emotion, and comedic timing, making him a reliable choice for projects that require depth and nuance.
He is currently merging his love for music and storytelling by working on recording Afrikaans singles, and has released 'Dagdroom Kind,' and “Nugter Alleen” which are available to stream on all major streaming platforms. He is excited to bring his unique blend of skills and experiences to your next project, adding that special touch only a seasoned performer can offer.
